About our ministry...

Nebo Crossing was founded as Eastside Baptist Church in 1978 under the leadership of Pastor Bill Long. His faithful shepherding gained the respect of McDowell County, and established a strong church within the community. In January of 2010, Eastside Baptist called Bob Ritter to assume the responsibility of Lead Pastor.
Building upon its legacy of faithfulness, Nebo Crossing adopted its new name in 2012. While still affirming its foundational doctrines, Nebo Crossing sought to return to a highly Biblical model of church while creating a loving and engaging environment to facilitate life change.
Today, Nebo Crossing has experienced unprecedented growth within its congregation - both spiritually and numerically. We believe God wants to do great things with our church, and we simply invite you along for the journey.
Nebo Crossing is pastor led, elder directed, and church approved. We operate under a Baptistic model of ministry. Nebo Crossing exists to reach our community with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, one individual and one family at a time.

Our Mission...

to Connect people to Jesus and His family relationally, Grow with them in Christ-like identity and maturity, Serve with them in passionate ministry in both the church and community, ultimately to Share in Christ’s ministry of reconciliation.

Our Worship Gatherings...

We believe that something special takes place when God's people gather together to partake in corporate worship. We invite you to join us to experience it for yourself. Through warm fellowship, corporate worship, and Biblical teaching, we desire to lift high the name of Jesus and draw people into vibrant relationships with Him!

Our Sunday morning service takes place at 10 am in the William H. Long Memorial Auditorium at 263 Barnes Rd, Marion.

Our typical adult service will last about 90 minutes, and includes energetic and powerful worship, as well as Biblical preaching from a dynamic speaker, and a time for reflection and response.    Wear whatever

Our 10am Kidz Church for school-aged children involves fun games, engaging Bible lessons, small group discussion and activity time, as well as worship.  Nurseries are provided at the same time-slot for children ages 4 and younger. and are safe, loving environments with their own elements of age-appropriate Bible lessons and music.

Crossover Students (7th-12th graders) meet on Sunday afternoons at 4pm, and includes Bible lessons, games and "hang out" time.

Our Heart...

We believe the strength of a church is determined by the strength of its families.  And families come in all shapes and sizes - from widowers, to single parents, to couples without children, to empty nesters, to the moms and dads with houses full of babies, if you have a last name, you're considered a "family." And that means everyone!

At Nebo Crossing, we put a special emphasis on "Every Family Better," in every sense of the word "better!" This means growing spiritually, becoming safe places for honest conversations, getting more connected to the body of Christ, becoming financially fit, serving in areas you are gifted and passionate about, and sharing with others what God is doing in your lives.
